After a late Thursday night arrival, checking into the Hotel Astoria on Carrer de Paris, just behind Diagonal, we went for a late dinner at a branch of my favourite Mexican in Barcelona.

The next morning we woke late and went to the University of Barcelona on Grand Via and got an inside tour of the original rooms and offices from as far back as the 1400's and library. I saw a book that had been made in the 1500's! The colours were amazing and it was very well preserved.

After wandering around the University area some more, we went back to the Hotel to get ready for the wedding.

The wedding was in a beautiful church just behind Placa Catalunya - in Placeta di Ramon Amadeu. We then went to the reception in a Palace, outside the city to the north which was really beautiful. It was a really fun wedding from the jamon and cava in the palace gardens to yummy food, fantastic music (always good rocking out to Jet with the groom, the only one who knew the song...) and even bacon and egg rolls at 4am to keep everyone going! Even the kids were still partying at 3am, Catalan style!

The night only ended with a drunken bus ride back to Barcelona with about 50 other wedding guests!
